Honor Dr. Campos' TGH/USF Legacy!

For over 4 decades, Dr. Campos played an integral role in providing world-class care for TGH/USF pediatric dialysis and transplant patients and their families. His career started 43 years ago in 1982, when he joined USF as an assistant professor, specializing in pediatric nephrology and tasked with starting kidney transplantation. TGH was recently named the#1 Transplant Institute in the nation, celebrating over 7,500 kidney transplants with 359 of those being pediatric transplants. Dr. Campos, who has led the pediatric transplant program with the transplant surgeons since its inception, was instrumental in this milestone. In addition, Dr. Campos has held multiple leadership positions, including Medical Director of the USF/TGH Pediatric Dialysis Unit, TGH’s Pediatric Kidney Transplant Program, Chief of Pediatrics at TGH, and Clinical Vice Chair for USF Pediatrics.

Although Dr. Campos’ numerous medical and teaching accolades are impressive, what really sets Dr. Campos apart is his compassionate care and dedication to clinical excellence that he has provided for pediatric patients and their families for over four decades.

We would like to recognize Dr. Campos’s contributions and achievements by establishing a yearly award, the Campos Legacy Award for Pediatric Kidney Care.

Will you help us celebrate Dr. Campos and establish this award with a gift to the pediatric dialysis fund? Gifts of any size will be a special way to honor Dr. Campos’ legacy. Your generosity will allow us to recognize a deserving team member and advance their knowledge of kidney care through continuing education and program enhancement.  With your support, we can continue to advance the world-class care delivered by our Kidney program for patients and their families for years to come.

If you were a patient, colleague, or friend of Dr. Campos and would like to share a note of thanks or well wishes you can do so by clicking this link: Send well wishes or a note of thanks to Dr. Campos!
