Support Care Packages for TGH Cancer Institute Patients

The Tampa General Hospital Cancer Institute is proud to provide world-class clinical expertise while offering compassionate care to all of our patients. The Patient Care Packages Program supports TGH Cancer Institute patients, offering comfort and practical support to patients beginning their cancer treatment journey. These comfort kits will include a tote bag with the following items: thermometer, toothbrush and toothpaste, hand sanitizer, lotion and pen, insulated lunch bag, hot/cold pack, sunscreen, chapstick and a blanket. 

More than 100 surveys collected from current patients showed overwhelmingly positive feedback. Patients described the packages as “very helpful,” “thoughtful,” and “perfect - everything that I would need,” reflecting how even small gestures can ease the stress of starting treatment. One patient shared that the package “will definitely be used and will give comfort,” while another expressed gratitude for something as simple as receiving a lunch bag when they had been bringing meals in a plastic bag. 

We are seeking support from individuals who believe in compassionate, patient‑centered care. Your support will allow us to assemble high‑quality care packages that can be distributed to oncology patients across multiple TGH Cancer Institute locations. Together, we have a goal of raising $10,000 from our TGH community to sustain and grow the Patient Care Packages Program. All gifts, no matter the size will truly make a difference in supporting TGH Cancer Institute patients by offering a gesture of comfort throughout their treatment journey.
