Tampa General Hospital’s Emergency Services Institute provides nationally recognized emergency care backed by the expertise of an academic health system. As Tampa Bay’s only Level I Trauma Center, TGH delivers around-the-clock care for the region’s most critically injured and complex patients. TGH was the first hospital in Florida to earn ACS verification for Emergency General Surgery, among the first in the state to achieve the FRCE certificate for resuscitation excellence, and was recognized on Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals 2025 list.
The Institute includes Tampa General’s hospital-based and freestanding emergency departments, aeromedical and ground transport services, and specialized emergency programs that ensure rapid access to expert care. Supported by board-certified emergency physicians and specialists across all major disciplines, TGH provides comprehensive trauma, emergency surgery, surgical critical care, and rescue services, making it a trusted referral destination for advanced emergency care throughout Florida.
